A chance for more diversity at The Listener

So rumor has it that the editor of The Listener is leaving.

One can only hope that the new editor will be more open to publishing a wider range of political opinion than at present.

One of the admirable characteristics of the British centre left publications The Independent and The Guardian is that while both take firm editorial stands on issues such as Iraq they are at the same time prepared to have on staff and regularly publish journalists with different views.

This has been noticeably absent from The Listener under its present editor.
