Child abuse and terrorism

This terrorists are the result of abused childhoods argument is interesting. No evidence of course.

Counter examples:

bin Laden - very wealthy family. More likely to be spoilt brat.

Children who survived concentration camps during the Holocaust. Very low rate of terrorism.

The article's premise that empathy is a fragile substance that can only be learnt in the right circumstances just does not hold up under scrutiny. Empathy is a genetically endowed ability. And we should be very grateful that it is.
